Seven Degrees of Blonde
FIRST DEGREE
A married couple were asleep when the phone rang
at 2 in the morning. The very blonde wife picked up the phone, listened a moment and
said ‘How should I know, that’s 200 miles from here!’ and hung up.
The husband said, ‘Who was that?’
The wife answered, ‘I don’t know, some woman wanting to know If the coast is clear.’
SECOND DEGREE
Two blondes are walking down the street. One notices a compact on the sidewalk and
leans down to pick it up. She opens it, looks in the mirror and says, ‘Hmm, this person
looks familiar.’
The second blonde says, ‘Here, let me see!’
So, the first blonde hands her the compact.
The second blonde looks in the mirror and says, ‘You dummy, it’s me!’
THIRD DEGREE
A blonde suspects her boyfriend of cheating on her, so she goes out and buys a gun. She
goes to his apartment unexpectedly and when she opens the door she finds him in the
arms of a redhead. Well, the blonde is really
angry. She opens her purse to take out the gun, and as she does so, she is overcome with
grief. She takes the gun and puts it to her head.
The boyfriend yells, ‘No, honey, don’t do it!!!’
The blonde replies, ‘Shut up, you’re next!’
FOURTH DEGREE
A blonde was bragging about her knowledge of state capitals.
She proudly says, ‘Go ahead, ask me, .... I know ‘em all.’
A friend says, ‘OK, what’s the capital of Wisconsin ?’
The blonde replies, ‘Oh, that’s easy. It’s W.’
FIFTH DEGREE
Q: What did the blonde ask her doctor when he told her she was pregnant?
A: ‘Is it mine?’
SIXTH DEGREE
Bambi, a blonde in her fourth year as a UCLA Freshman, sat in her US Government
class. The professor asked Bambi if she knew what Roe vs. Wade was about.
Bambi pondered the question; then, finally, said, ‘That was the decision George Washington
had to make before he crossed the Delaware ....’
SEVENTH DEGREE
Returning home from work, a blonde was shocked to find her house ransacked and
burglarized. She telephoned the police at once and reported the crime. The police dispatcher
broadcast the call on the radio, and a K-9 unit, patrolling nearby, was the first
to respond.
As the K-9 officer approached the house with his dog on a leash, the blonde ran out on
the porch, shuddered at the sight of the cop and his dog, then sat down on the steps. Putting
her face in her hands, she moaned, ‘I come home to find all my possessions stolen.
I call the police for help, and what do they do? They send me a BLIND policeman!’

Giving Your Property Back – Do You Still Owe The Debt?
When you take out a loan to finance property (like
a house/car) you are in debt to a secured creditor.
This creditor has a security interest in your collateral
to secure your installment payments overtime. Once the
installment debt is paid in full, the secured creditor will “release”
the property to you, free and clean of any liens. If you
don’t pay, the creditor can take back their collateral either by
foreclosing a mortgage or repossessing the collateral.
These days, many consumers have fallen on hard
times, due to job loss, divorce, illness, or other financial calamities
and often cannot make the payments. These folks
mistakenly think that if they give the property back to the
lender or allow the property to be foreclosed on, or repossessed,
that they won’t owe the creditor any more payments
at that point. Nothing could be further from the truth! Thousands
of Americans are finding themselves in this exact situation
even worse. In one recent case, a woman got “permission”
from her mortgage company to short sale her home
after a divorce (desperate to sell due to her financial situation
and unable to sell due to the depressed real estate market).
Months later, she received a letter from the bank’s attorney
demanding $65,000, the deficiency in the amount owed and
the amount received from the short sale.
If you “return” property, go through a foreclosure,
or even if you and your lender agree on a “short sale” (permission
by the lender to sell a home for less than you owe on
the mortgage), you may have gotten rid of the big millstone
around your neck, but not the underlying debt. For example,
you borrow $30,000 to finance a car, and 2 years into your
5 year car note, you lose your job and can’t make payments.
You then return the car to the lender voluntarily, who gladly
accepts it (because you signed a contract to pay the full
amount of the note, plus all additional cost. The lender sells
your car for whatever they can get (usually a very minimal
amount) and tacks on “collection cost” such as, surrender
charges, auction fees, storage fees, repairs, attorneys fees
etc. If the sale results in the creditor collection only $5,000,
and the remaining debt you owed was $20,000, the creditor
will pursue you for the difference. At some point, you’ll get
a letter threatening to sue you unless you pay the deficiency,
or $15,000, which you legally owe.
Deficiency judgments are prevalent, and a legal
cancer in our society. Deficiency judgments will follow you
for years, can affect your credit score, and in certain cases,
lead to garnishment of wages (depending on the state you
reside in). Short of paying the judgment or “settling” the
debt with a partial payment, the only permanent way to end
your relationship with a lender is to coordinate a “give back”
or foreclosure through bankruptcy. In almost all cases, bankruptcy
legally wipes out a deficiency and the lender is barred
from pursing collection. Before you consider giving that
property back, talk to a bankruptcy attorney to see how it
will affect you, your family, and your credit.
