John 14:14

You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Whose name do you ask in? In Jesus name!

At first in my walk with Jesus, I asked a lot for other people. I prayed and asked for other peoples healing of their bodies or sickness. I asked for them to have a changed life through Christ. I prayed for everything you could think of for other people. I saw God answer my prayers! I knew He was real and hearing me. But, for some reason I didn’t think I should pray for myself. I felt selfish to ask for more than what I was already blessed with, a good husband, kids and home. Some people don’t have even that. I also felt ashamed because I still had some stuff in my life that I felt guilty about.

John 14 tells us that if we keep His (Jesus) commands we can ask “anything” in His name and He will do it. Well, I tried it! I let go of stuff in my life that I know Jesus says not to do and started asking for things I needed in my life. (The letting go of stuff was easier when I saw God answer my prayers for other people.) I had a lot of things from my past that needed to be fixed.

Today applying scripture to my life is exciting because not only do I get to see how real God is, I see everything coming together that needed to be fixed. One of the most awesome parts of keeping Jesus’ commands is the peace that comes along with it. I no longer have baggage that is catching up to me. There are only blessings and good things.

It’s a wonderful life living for Jesus. I am truly excited to find new scripture to put in my life and take old ways of living out. It seems like it’s hard but it’s not. It just all falls in place once you give Jesus a little time in your day. Who the Son sets FREE is FREE indeed!

If you have an answered prayer, please share it. I share mine because I want to share how real and how wonderful God is! Email it to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
